The transitional seasons require clothing that allows for warmth in cool weather and breathability for those sudden shifts to warmth. They’re my favorites of the seasons, not just because they smell so good (Budding flowers! Dying leaves!) but because they encourage accessorizing. When Noro Ayatori arrived in my LYS, I knew it wanted to be a lacy hat, perfect for autumn and spring. The 60/40 wool and silk blend is airy but warm and the soft colorways lend this substantial hat a delicate look. I love hats that can contain my pigtails and the lace rib pattern allows for enough stretch to do just that. The length of the hat makes it just a little slouchy but one ball of Ayatori has enough yarn to add more length and thus, more slouch! I named this cap Quinn after my grandmother (and by extension, some of my cousins) because it is everything she was and taught the women in her family to be: beautiful, warm, open, and strong.
