So what is a Static Star? I think most crocheters would be familiar with the good old round ripple or as it is sometimes called Star blanket. My new design takes that classic shape and pops in a twist in the form of a ‘static panel’. In the dip of each point is a panel of pattern: diamonds, cables, sun rays… and more to come! Static Stars are fun, textured and dynamic designs. They turn the ordinary Star blanket into something out of this world

Quinn’s Cables is the second of 3 individual releases in the Static Star Series. You can buy all 3, in the ebook.

The design:

Quinn’s Cables is textured centre out design featuring fpdc cables. It is an ongoing expandable pattern created by repeating a set of 5 rounds after the centre section is completed. This means you can make anything from a place mat to a bed spread depending on how many times you repeat the design. Quinn’s Cables is an easy level pattern that even a confident beginner would be able to complete. It is perfect for all weights of yarn but it really shines in chunkier weights.

Materials needed:
Quinn’s Cables was designed to make a blanket using any weight of yarn of approximately 1000m+. The finished size of the sample is approximately 110cm using 1000m of 10 ply Bendigo Woollen Mills cotton. The second sample is 140cm using 1300m of Bendigo Woollen Mills 12 ply Tweed.
It is an expandable design so meterage will vary depending on desired size and yarn weight used.
