Ra-Starry Night first debuted in 2016 as one of my first published designs. I took mediocre pictures and then promptly gifted my sample.

Now, eight years later, I’m working my way through my older designs, making corrections and pattern format changes, knitting new samples, and taking more detailed photographs.

Since Ra-Starry Night’s release, I have recreated the design in fingering (Superstar), dk (Stars Align), and worsted (Worsted Sister). All are included in my Starry Night Collection for just $6 (or you can easily buy just one of the patterns and calculate the stitch count from your gauge).

Super bulky hats are perfect for near-instant gratification. I knit two of them during a ten-hour car ride, then another the following afternoon!

I had a beautiful skein of Malabrigo Caracol in Whales Road and cast that on next.

Super bulky yarns can vary greatly in gauge, especially when they are thick-and-thin, like Caracol. Rather than force a gauge match when the stitch tension was clearly different, I’ve included measurements for gauges of 12 and 14 sts over 4”/10cm. In the written pattern, the different gauges are written as two separate patterns in one pdf.
