This is a very simple pattern that requires a bit of weaving in of ends and sewing. You will need to be familiar with changing colors and the Foundation Double Crochet/Half Double Crochet. There are some wonderful tutorials on YouTube that cover both of these techniques. I know that many of you have your own methods of changing colors, so I will simply state that you need to change colors in the pattern without going into detail on it.

If you would like to alter this to have a solid back, skip the long straps created at the shoulders and simply continue rows of DC. When you’ve achieved the width you desire, simply sew your final row to row 1.

The pattern is written on the actual diagram, which may not make much sense until you see it, but it makes it VERY easy to understand the construction.

Stitches used include:
Foundation Double Crochet (FDC)
Foundation Half Double Crochet (FHDC)
Double Crochet (DC)
Slip Stitch (SL ST)
Single Crochet (SC)

You will need:
6.5mm hook
Scissors
Needle for sewing in ends
400 - 450 yards of #3 weight yarn (Size SM - Bust 32”)
450 - 500 yards of #3 weight yarn (Size MED - Bust 36”)
500 - 550 yards of #3 weight yarn (Size LRG - Bust 40”)
550 - 600 yards of #3 weight yarn (Size XLRG - Bust 44”)
(If you choose to create the closed back look, you will need 100 - 200 additional yards depending on the size and rows you choose to put in.)

Between myself and testers Sinfonia Mercerized Cotton yarn from Hobby Lobby and Premiere Yarns Everyday Day Baby 100% anti-pilling acrylic (DK Light) were used.
