Make use of fine cotton threads in this lacy summer hat. I originally designed to it to highlight my Mountain Colors “Bearfoot” Mill Ends, and in sock yarn it’s also the perfect fall accessory for milder climates. Start at the top with a pretty radiating design that transforms into embedded rectangle lace.

Skill Level: Intermediate/Advanced beginner (You need to be familiar with all stitch heights and making stitch clusters)

Materials
• About 120 yards (30 g) of fine cotton or sock yarn. Both CYCA Weight Category 1 and 2 have worked for me. Shown in Brown Sheep “Cotton Fine”, 80% cotton, 20% wool. Suitable substitutes include Size 3 crochet thread, DMC Senso, Red Heart Lustersheen and most sock weight yarns.
• Size D-4 (3.25 mm) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
• Yarn needle

Finished Size: Circumference measures 20” but stretches to fit most teens and women. Notes are given for making the hat slightly looser around the brim if desired.

The pdf pattern for this hat is 2 pages long and includes full written instructions. As always, feel free to ask me questions if you have any as you crochet this pattern.
