Knitting with beads really adds an element of interest both while knitting and while wearing these socks.

This pattern is based on a stitch found in Barbara Walker’s A Treasury of Knitting Patterns. I used a crochet hook to draw the stitches through the beads, and a small wooden toothpick (!) to hold the temporairly dropped stitches.

Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock is a dream to work with, but any solid color fingering weight yarn will do. Don’t skip out on the beading, though. It’s not as hard as it sounds - and it’s the beads that make these socks rock!
