This stranded cowl is knitted with a provisional cast-on and grafted together at the end. It is knitted in the round as a long tube, so no purl stitches. The stranded pattern is easy to memorize.

The cowl shown above is knitted with one main color and seven contrast colors. But it can be knitted with any number of contrast colors.

Four the rainbow color version you will need appr.: 840 - 910m (920 - 1000yards) of main color and appr. 80m (90yards) of each contrast color.

If you have only one contrast color, you will need appr. 560m (530yards) of contrast color yarn.
