Rainbow Ragdoll was created as a result of my childhood memories of my own cherished rag doll that was virtually glued to me when I was a child. There is nothing quite so cherished as a child’s dolly and it is with this in mind that I have designed this set of two… Rainbow and Rainey.
I am offering these two separately and also as a pair for a reduced price.
Rainbow is knit in one piece from her sneakers to her multi-colored and multi-patterned leggings to her bright striped pullover. Her hands and arms are knit to the raglan shaping and then added into the main body at the underarms. You then continue on to work the neck and head - one piece knitting.
The clothing is not removeable except the flared skirt that is worked last and sewn to the waist. You could add elastic and have it removeable so she can wear her leggings alone or her skirt.. the choice is yours.
Full instructions are given to create her full head of hair and the hairdo that she is proud of. Highlights in bright colors add to the pizzazz that is her name- Rainbow!
If you can knit with several colors and do basic intarsia, work pdf increases and basic knitting stitches, you can make Rainbow. I list it as Intermediate due to the colorwork and the assembly of the entire unit.
Both line to line instructions and basic charts are included for the intarisa and photos for the hair assembly.
I created Rainbow from Schachenmayr Baby Smiles yarn. It is a dream to knit with and comes in a wide variety of colors so suited my needs. However, this is a design that could easily be used as a stash buster knit. Stitch and row counts are given throughout so it is easy to create your own color scheme if you so decide.
