This is a super easy cloche style hat that’s made to show off your favorite heavy yarns. It requires approximately 150 yards of heavy worsted weight or Aran yarn to make a large hat, a pretty matching decorative button to hold up the side brim, and 2 circular needles or 5 straights to knit in the round. The simple construction lets your yarn be the star; it works well with long-color shifting yarns, multi-colored yarns and handspuns. It makes a good instant gratification knit and is mindless enough to be good travel or TV knitting, but not so long and boring that you’ll lose momentum. Have fun picking out a decorative button to hold up the brim!
