Rainbow’s end is the second in a series that makes up my Nature’s way blanket, and features a rainbow on a lilac background. It can be knitted as a square in a blanket, used as a wash cloth, or the chart can be extracted and used as a motif for jumpers and other items. When knitted in DK weight yarn, the finished square measures 10 inches (25 cm); the rainbow chart is 43 sts by 34 rows. Both coloured and symbol charts are provided.

Tools: 4 mm (US 6) needles; tapestry needle; bobbins for colour work. For needles, size should be changed to match gauge (22 sts and 30 rows to 4 inches (10 cm)).

Materials: Any DK weight yarn in the following colours: Red (10 m/10 yds), Yellow (10 m/10 yds), Meadow green (5 m/5 yds), Sky blue (5 m/5 yds), Lilac (or any other background colour desired) (75 m/80 yds).

The sample shown was knitted in Stylecraft Special DK

Meadow (1065) and Cloud Blue (1019).

Difficulty: Intermediate (knit, purl, simple intarsia)
