YOU WILL NEED:

  • 150 gr of Alize Merino Royal* yarn (100% merino wool) 100 m in 50 gr
  • crochet hook 4 mm (or another hook size required to obtain the correct gauge)
  • stitch markers, tapestry needle, scissors.

Yarn substitution:
Nako Super Tweed, Drops Lima, Kartopu Elit wool, BBB Zarra, BBB Full, BBB Premiere, Lana Gatto super soft, Drops Merino Extra fine, YarnArt Merino deluxe, Cortina, Schachenmayr Merino Extrafine, etc. It is better to use 100% merino wool with a high twist in the ply.

To make the beret the following crochet skills are required:

The pattern provides calculation and description of work for two sizes: to fit 54-56 cm and 56-58 cm head circumference.
Finished beret dimensions: outside diameter - 27-28 cm, inside diameter - 10-11 cm. The cuff is approx. 1.5 cm; as it is folded inside it will not show when worn.

The beret is made in one piece using turning rows, starting from the side. You shall gradually work on the beret’s wedges without breaking thread. At the end you will sew the starting and the final rows using the tapestry needle.
