This stole version of the Raindrops and Umbrellas Scarf, has optional bead placement and the pattern is written for lace weight and fingering weight yarns.

Gauge is not imperative, but yardage is based on meeting gauge.

Notions:
Waste yarn and crochet hook for provisional cast on; 4 coil-less pins;
Optional stitch markers and lifeline threads; sewing needle

Needles: circular needles in the size required to obtain gauge.
Lace sample used 3.25mm/US3 and the Fingering sample used 3.75mm/US5.
Recommended lengths are 32” and 40” – 60”. There is a large number of stitches.

Construction –
Beads are placed as you work, using the crochet hook or floss method.

The Raindrops section is worked back and forth, using a circular needle to accommodate the large number of stitches.
Then stitches are picked up around the Raindrops and the Umbrellas are created in the round.

Two versions of the charts are included: A colour-coded chart that includes the number of plain knit stitches, but does not print well in grayscale, and a regular black and white chart which does not include the number of plain knit stitches.

This pattern has been tested and tech-edited.
