I love snuggly scarves, but I have discovered that knitting a wide scarf is not always the solution. Enter a relatively thin double knit scarf! Not only does this allow for some fun and easy color work, but the fabric is double thick. Considering my life in the Pacific Northwest, a raindrop motif was a simple choice.

If double knitting is a new technique for you, then this simple repeat may be an excellent choice. The key I have found is to take a few rows to find a rhythm and hand placement that works for you. Honestly, in the end I just hold both yarns on the same finger of the same hand and pick the appropriate color (if this is your method, try not to twist them together too much).
