Knitters love this mitered pattern, reporting that as soon as they complete their first one, they are planning the color scheme for the next one! Could it be that it is seamless, yet magically the 55 component geometrics are simply knit together? Can be knit with stash or five planned colors, circular or straight needles. Designed by, Pat Penney.

The Rambling Rows Afghan is one for everyone – babies, children or adults. It is lovely when knit in five colorways, but also if done in one hue. It can be done with stash. Knit in 55 coordinated squares and rectangles it is nevertheless seamless.

One of my favorite stories is of Mary, a grandma who printed the centerfold diagram in the pattern and gave a copy to each of her three grandchildren—with directions! The kids chose their favorite colors and colored the diagram. Grandma purchased yarn in the selected colors and a year later each child received their own personalized Rambling Rows afghan.
