Range is a long, lightweight wool scarf with a simple but striking
lace pattern. Designed in Brooklyn Tweed Loft, Range is long enough to wrap around your neck a few times to keep you toasty on the chilliest of days. Knit in fingering weight yarn, this design retains all the wonderful drape (without the cumbersome bulk) of most longer scarves. Brooklyn Tweed Loft is spun from the wool of Targhee-Columbia sheep raised on the rugged ranges of Wyoming. The wool is simple, rustic and dyed in many gorgeous tweedy shades. Because Loft is woolen spun, the yarn has an abundance of airy softness but can break easily before it is washed and blocked. Be sure to tension your stitches in the lace pattern without over tightening and you won’t have any problem with breakage. After blocking, the wool “blooms” and the fibers bind together to create a gorgeous, lofty yarn with just enough twist to showcase lace stitches especially well.……………………………………..

Range is one of 6 accessory patterns in The Wool Project collection e-book. The Wool Project is more than just a pattern collection. It’s a catalyst to spark your journey of exploration through the wonders of wool. Each of the patterns in The Wool Project was chosen to showcase a particular breed-specific wool yarn; to give knitters a taste of the distinct characteristics of each sheep’s fleece transformed into a beautiful skein of yarn.
