Here is a super fun, super colorful, textured hat with loads of personality!

It is fun to knit and has a lot of style options:

  • Wear it solo
  • Wear it with one tassel
  • Wear it with a different tassel
  • Wear it with both tassels
  • The loop at the top also allows for convenient hanging
  • Tassels are easily detached and reattached to suit your mood

This pattern is four pages. The first and last page contain lots of pictures and are not necessary to print, but are useful and fun to look at. So, if you are trying to conserve printer ink, you can always omit those from the print job.

The second page, alone, is enough to knit the hat successfully. The third page is a mini-tutorial, complete with photos, showing how I make my unique, detachable tassel.

When I finished my hat, I couldn’t decide what to name it. Then, while wearing it around the house for an entire weekend, “whipping my hair back and forth,” and feeling free and fun, I came up with the name Rapunzel. Why? Because while wearing it, I felt like I had the long hair I always dreamed of but never had. It felt so good to toss my head in one direction and have the hat tail and tassel follow… Such fun!

Everyone who sees or wears this hat LOVES it. I plan to offer them for sale in my etsy shop but so far, I can’t keep any in stock! They just keep selling by word of mouth. So, I decided to share the fun with you by offering my pattern for sale. I hope you enjoy the Rapunzel Stocking Hat!
