These socks are nicely textured and will enhance the colors of those lovely variegated skeins of sock yarn out there.

They’re knitted cuff down with a heel flap and wide toe.

Skill level: intermediate.

Techniques: knit/purl in the round and flat, increase/decrease, picking up stitches, short rows, grafting.

Yarn: 350-420 yards of fingering weight sock yarn.
Sample knitted in Wendy Happy (75% bamboo/25% nylon)

Gauge:
Size small / medium: 36 stitches x 48 rows = 4” in stockinette - size US 1 / 2.25 mm needles
Size medium / large: 32 stitches x 44 rows = 4” in stockinette - size US 2 / 2.75 mm needles

Tools: Size US 1 / 2.25 mm or US 2 / 2.75 mm set of 5 DPNs or long circular needle for magic loop (or size to get gauge); tapestry needle; scissors; 2 stitch markers.
