Rasta wrap or oversized cowl
Gorgeous and scrumptiously soft oversized cowl or wrap made in Malabrigo Rasta super chunky hand kettledyed fine merino.
Directions are both written and charted
Knowledge needed: Knitting : K, P, SSK, K2tog, CABLING,
Basic Crochet: Chain, SC, slp st
Overview: The piece is knit as one large rectangle and edged with single crochet in a matching solid color- I used different yarns. There are two strands of knotted cabling that are offset and mirrored. Options are given for a wrap without the crochet edges in a single piece. Maybe add some fringe? Lots of possibilities.
Measurements: aprox. 21” by 48” relaxed/unblocked
Needs: 4 hanks of Malbrigo Rasta** -I used Piedras -about 300 yds needed
1 hank of Mirasol Ushya- I used rosewood-about 65 yds needed
I highly recommend your using the Rasta as the main yarn. It is pricey but absolutely worth every penny. For a single ply super bulky it is incredible- doesn’t shed or pill, and you can rip and reknit many many times without fuzziness. Not to mention the incredible softness. I can’t give enough superlatives to this yarn! It is my absolute super bulky of choice, I haven’t bought any other super bulky since using this.

shawl pin or anywhere buttons to close (anywhere buttons can be put through the fabric at any point, ensuring a proper fit and allowing for more ways to pin, fold, and drape the garment. anywhere buttons are reversible with two different styles/colors on each side) directions given on how to make the anywhere buttons.
A great versatile size. I wear mine with three sets of anywhere buttons to close it as a cowl. You can drape it or pin it over your head for a hooded capelet/scarf, wear it over a coat or on its own. I’ll put up more pix of ways to wear soon.
