Pattern description from Knitting for Dummies: “Here’s another basic sweater with simple construction - an angled armhole, flat sleeve top, and no neck shaping. You can see it pictured in the color insert. The schematic in Figure 18-3 shows the shapes of the pieces. I’ve given this sweater a contemporary feeling by using a long ribbed border on the sleeve cuffs and body and then blocking out the rib for a relaxed shape that doesn’t cling. You can knit this sweater quickly on size 9 needles. You’ll want to make one in each of your favorite colors. Notice that I’ve worked the shaping (increases and decreases) 2 stitches in from the edges instead of right at the edge. I think it’s easier to seam this way, and I like the way it looks. The line of shaping stitches is clearly delineated. If you prefer to hid your shaping, by all means work your increases and decreases on the 2 stitches at each edge.”
