This piece was introduced at my 2022 K1love1 Knitting Retreat. After the 2021 project frustrated so many knitters with a large expanse of the dreaded seed stitch, this pretty poncho promises a much friendlier combination of stitches--thus, hoping to redeem myself! (That said, if you happen to be fond of seed stitch, you might like my Something About It Wrap)

It begins with a provisional cast on that allows for a seamless construction, followed by lots of fun color play to keep your interest.

While the pattern is written for one size only, the size can easily be adjusted by changing the length and width of the Main Body. If you choose to make it larger, you will need an additional skein of the 2 main colors.

Finished Measurement after blocking and folded: 18” x 31.5”

Colors used:
MC1 - Plain Cake, by Madeline Tosh, 395 yards
MC2 - Antler, by Madeline Tosh, 395 yards
CC1 - Olive, Black Butte by Alexandra the Art of Yarn, 200 yards
CC2 - Moonglow, by Madeline Tosh, 200 yards
CC3 - Night in Chile, by Madeline Tosh, 200 yards

My recommendation is to use 4 predominantly solid contrasting colors and 1 variegated or heavily speckled. One light and 1 medium for the main body; 1 medium, 1 medium/dark, and one dark for the border. This will help to make your stitch work pop. However, keep in mind that you are a creative person and there are NO rules here!

Needles: Size 3, 24” and 32” circular, or size to obtain gauge
