These Regal mittens are based loosely on Norwegian and Fair Isle motifs and themes. In my work I like to take inspiration from many traditional sources and bring them all together with a modern twist. The subtle regal theme throughout the mitten is announced in the afterthought thumb, adorned with two small crowns. Instead of a typical ribbing on the cuff, a delicate sugar scallop adds an extra touch of elegance and femininity, although instructions for a more conventional ribbed cuff are included.
