This child’s box jacket has a simple shape which is easy to adapt to larger and smaller sizes or to make with other bulky yarns. The sloping pocket edges make it comfortable for the wearer to walk with their hands warm inside and the hood means no worries about losing a hat while out playing.
The pattern is written for knitting the body and hood in one piece, minimising seams. Simple stocking stitch is a good way to show off a gorgeous yarn - making the ribbed edges in a contrast colour also works well.
