I wrote this pattern in hopes that women who have experienced a pregnancy or early infant loss can make something to comfort them thru the long road of healing. After my miscarriage in late Oct. 2007, I was empty handed and broken hearted. All I had was the “I’m sorry for your loss” phone call from the doctor. And because it was so early in my pregnancy, I felt no one would remember the baby I sent to heaven.

I hope that you will make this comfort “hug” shawl for yourself or someone close to you who has experienced a pregnancy or early infant loss and let them know that they aren’t forgotten. And then once the wounds have healed, perhaps make another to donate to a local hospital in remembrance of the angel child so that other woman can experience the same comfort “hug”

This pattern is dedicated to the women of the Healing After Pregnancy Loss group.
