This remembrance day poppy pattern has been inspired by the WW1 centenary in 2014.

Avoiding buttons, this crochet poppy pattern delivers a great lookalike of the Royal British Legion paper poppies which might not fall off your lapel on the train.

Although this is created in a DK weight yarn, I would suggest working in as small a hook as you can stand - it looks much neater when the stitches are tight. I wouldn’t recommend going above a 3.5mm.
