RENREN

れんれん (Japanese) longing of being in love

As long as I have lived, and in various climates, I can attest that the winter staple of every personal wardrobe of any age is a classic cabled hat. Having knit and designed my fair share of cabled hats throughout my knitting path, RENREN is the kind of design that pushed me to explore other possibilities beyond traditional cabling techniques. To achieve higher relief on the surface I’ve combined several maneuvers to develop this “modular cabling with negative space” technique. This innovative cabling method produces striking cables that are more dimensional and defined, while the hat itself remains stretchy and malleable. And combining this cabling method with this particular yarn made it incredibly lightweight yet warm. Implementing 2×2 ribbing for brim with the impeccable cast on technique provides additional comfort while supporting the lattice-shaped framework of the cable patterning. Offered in 2 sizes, this hat will be a wonderful gift for your loved ones!
