Do you ever buy a skein or two of multi-colored or semi-solid yarn and then have no idea how to use it? This cowl was designed as a way to break up the colors in the yarn, showing them off beautifully. The stitch pattern is easy and squishy, and looks equally good in variegated and tonal yarn.

Please note that this pattern includes instructions for both worsted-weight and DK-weight yarn. However, any yarn may be used - just cast on a multiple of two stitches.

Cowls pictured are:

  • DK one-skein version: Dream in Color Everlasting DK, in color Poppy.
  • Worsted two-skein version: Malabrigo Rios, in color Piedras.

DK gauge: 20 stitches/4 inches in pattern stitch
Worsted gauge: 17 stitches/4 inches in pattern stitch
