Twisted ribbing and elegant smocking stitch combine in the eye-catching Reticulation Top. This beautiful top is worked flat from the bottom up in two pieces for the split hem, then the pieces are joined and worked in the round to the underarm before being divided again and worked separately back and forth.

Needles Size 7 (4.5 mm): 24–32” circular (cir), depending on size you are making, and set of double-pointed (dpn). Size 6 (4 mm): 16” cir. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

NOTES

  • The lower edge of this pullover is worked flat in two pieces, then the pieces are joined and the rest of the body is worked in the round to the underarm, then the front and back are worked separately back and forth. After the shoulders are joined, sleeve stitches are picked up and the sleeves are worked in the round from the top down.
