This easy to work pattern helps producing a dense and warm hat, with a smart use of yarn weights held together or alone - for quick and mindless shaping that still achieves the desired volume: It is worked in DK weight and Sport weight yarn, to effortless knit a wider body without the need to increase stitches.
The patterned body section of the hat is worked with 2 strands and a bigger needle, to form a nice, squishy, textured fabric, while the ribbed brim is extra long and can be worn folded up, if wished.
The hat is fully reversible and can be worked either with two complementing colours to enhance the double stranded section with a marled result, or in one single coloured version only.
You can finish off the hat with a short knotted i- cord at the top on one of the two sides or on both of them if you like - since it is small it won’t be visible when worn on the inside.
(In the sample pictures the dark blue version is shown in the right side and the green/light blue version in the wrong side of the hat).

A big Grazie to Michela LaMicky for translating this pattern into Italian!
Et un grand merci à Patricia patamodeler pour la traduction en Français!
