This magical cowl is worked holding three strands of yarn together allowing for the gradual colour change. There are eight different colours!

I recommend using a couple of lesser used techniques but firmly believe they are worth your time to learn for this project - Navajo Ply and Russian Join.

The former will keep you from having to wrangle as many balls as it would take without using the technique and the latter will keep you from the drudgery of weaving in ALL THOSE ENDS once you’re finished knitting.

A provisional cast-on, however you choose to do it, will also make life easier.
