Two-color double-knitted scarf with a simple geometric lattice pattern.

Gauge, yarn and needles can be varied freely.

Light fingering alpaca yarn, size 2.5 mm needles and three pattern repeats results in a scarf width of approximately 20 cm.

A scarf length of anywhere between 150-200 cm is fine and will require 2-3 skeins of 50 g in each color in light fingering yarn.

Do be aware that a very long scarf may become too bulky - and is quite unnecessary for warmth - if the yarn is any heavier than light fingering or fingering.

Pick your yarn and colors carefully to get enough contrast - but no more than you want. The pattern in the photos is quite subtle, but would look a lot more crisp in pure black, a slightly brighter red - and a smoother, less fluffy yarn. But with at least some elasticity, not cotton.
