This unisex hat was co-designed by Mel Vassey drmel94 & me especially for Rhinebeck 2009.

I-cord tassels for the crown are made first, then the hat is worked circularly from the top down to the brim. The earflaps are worked back and forth. There are no seams!

The design has 2 looks in one (see photos). When finished, hat can be worn with reverse side out by pulling the tassels through the small hole at the top of the crown.

The hat features a Diagonal Rib in the main section with stockinette crown and earflaps. It fits an average adult - measuring about 8 1/4” tall from the base to the top, and about 23” in total circumference at the opening. Knit with slightly smaller needles and tighter gauge if you want the circumference to fit a smaller head.
