Rhythm in the Needles is a wonderfully squishy cowl knit entirely in the Brioche stitch. I adore the Brioche stitch as it has an amazing Rhythm when knitting the Brioche Knit and Brioche Purl stitches. I guarantee that you will find it to be extremely soothing and find this pattern to be an excellent for mindless knitting.

This pattern is meant to be a beginner friendly introduction to Brioche knitting in the round. You will find references to excellent YouTube tutorial videos and online helps in addition to my written instructions. This cowl is also a good complement to any brioche knit hat. In this pattern I provide written instructions for both single color and two contrasting colors.

If you have been scared to try Brioche because it looks complicated, I encourage you to give this pattern a try. I included links to YouTube tutorials that I personally used to help me learn how to knit the Brioche stitch. It’s easier than it looks and it is super addictive once you get the Brioche Rhythm down.

MATERIALS
Needles: US 3 16” circular needles, or US 3 double pointed needles (DPNs)
