Description: A lovely reversible knit purl stitch pattern makes for a fun and easy cowl that uses less than one skein of your softest sock yarn. Instructions provided in charted and written form.

Sizes: Medium adult. Approximately 19” diameter and 9” high blocked. Directions provided for fingering as well as DK weight yarn.

Techniques Used: Working in the round, knitting, purling.

Difficulty: Easy

Materials: Madelinetosh Tosh sock shown in color Black Velvet, one skein, but any soft merino sock yarn will do. Used approximately 250 yards total. Size #3 (3.25 mm) circular needle in 16” length (or size needed for gauge). One stitch marker. DK weight version done with size #6 (4.0 mm) 16 inch needles.

Gauge: 7 stitches per inch using fingering weight in pattern unblocked; 6 stitches per inch using DK weight yarn in pattern unblocked.
