These boot toppers are a stylish way to add a touch of colour to
your winter wardrobe and make quick handmade gifts.

Each topper will stretch to about 34cm (13”) circumference but will lose length the further it has to stretch widthways; the suggested length of 7.5cm (3”) assumes a gentle widthways stretch and you may need to work extra length for wider boots.

They are worked flat and seamed; you will need 4mm needles and up to 50g (170 yards) of DK yarn for each pair.

Techniques
• k, p, k2tog and p2tog
• m1 - with left-hand needle, pick up horizontal loop before next st (inserting needle from front to back), k through the back of the loop
• yo - wrap the yarn over the right-hand needle, to create a new st and an eyelet
• mattress stitch for joining seams
