I am collecting hats from my students and clients for the NJ chapter of the American Heart Association’s “Little Hats, Big Hearts” campaign. The goal of the campaign is to raise awareness of Congenital Heart Defects. Babies born in February in participating hospitals will be given a red hat. This pattern is one I wrote up for my students to use - it’s quick and can be worked either flat with a seam or in the round on DPN.

Getting an exact GAUGE is not very critical for this pattern - just use worsted weight yarn and needles that are appropriate for your usual tension.
