This very cute child’s hat has a lot of things going for it:
It uses only one skein of Lion Brand Wool-Ease (yarn is held doubled for extra thickness!).
It knits up pretty fast, since it’s done on US 10 (6mm) needles, and for the most part in a simple K2 P2 rib.
For interest there are some twist stitches done a few inches up - these break up the monotony of the ribbing and make a cute pattern when stretched.
The ribbing means it will fit a variety of head sizes - and so will be of use for a good long time.
The curly toppers add a bit of whimsy - we don’t want our kids to be too serious too fast!
