The Ribbon and Rings Cowl uses a single skein of lovely aran or worsted weight yarn. It is an efficient stash buster as well as a lovely project that can either be given as a gift or worn by the knitter as an unusual and flexible cowl.

The pattern begins with a garter stitch panel, which continues up the sides as selvedges . The centre panel of the cowl is has a lovely simple cable that provides both texture and an unusual method of fastening, which should you wish, you can choose to omit, and use buttons instead.

By using ribbons to fasten this cowl you can either leave the ties closed at all times and use them decoratively, or you can adjust the fit of the ties to create different shapes and fit around the neck.
