With a smidgen of slouch, Riblet shows off narrow, raised stripes of self-striping yarn. The beanie is named for its ribbing, which is flatter than usual thanks to a refined rendition of post-stitch ribbing.

It’s worked from the top down in joined rounds.

This pattern is perfect for self-striping yarns in rainbow colors. It’s designed to use up every last beautiful yard in a partial skein of self-striping yarn. It takes less than 50 yards of self-striping yarn -- even in the extra-large size, and about 100 yards of the solid-color yarn.

The pattern offers four men’s and women’s sizes: Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large with head circumferences of 21, 22, 23, 24 in./53, 56, 58, 61 cm. It’s rated intermediate for its post stitches.
