A toasty knit hat and mittens set that is easy to knit and fun to watch as the self-striping yarn dance in color. Try it with two different variegated/self-striping yarns, a variegated/self-striping yarn with a solid, or one variegated/self-striping yarn begun in different places. I found this hat to be addicting because it’s so fun to watch the colors develop together.

I’ve always loved corrugated rib, it’s sturdy, flat, tidy, and you can play with color. I think these colors in the purple hat are sort of Japanese-boulders-on-the-beach-in-twilight, …maybe.

I’m already on my third hat. I’m finding for me it’s addictive, watching the colors come up next to each other in interesting ways without planning. The hat goes fairly fast.
