Size: medium to large

Yarn: C-, same yarn as used in Seamless Cocktail Coat, in silver and navy, 12 oz.

Needles: No. 10 or 11 average

Gauge: 3½ stitches to 1 inch

Chart: one box= 4 stitches and 4 ridges. Follow the chart for the cocktail coat, casting on the number of stitches given for the larger size and using smaller needles. A closer stitch is needed for the cardigan jacket.

Units: The waistcoat unit is the same unit as in the Seamless Cocktail Coat with a divided triangle added at back bottom edge of jacket. PK 40 plus 40 stitches each side exact center of cast-off edge and knit divided triangle.

To wear: See illustrations of jacket worn with lapels open, or closed high at neck with one lapel falling as jabot. Jacket is fastened with pin and clip. No edge is needed around the cardigan jacket for street wear.
