This knitted shawl with drop stitch lace that creates gentle ripples throughout the shawl. It’s a very simple soothing knit.

If you can knit, purl, yarn over, knit two stitches together and pass a slipped stitch over then you can knit this shawl.

The pattern is both charted and written.

The pattern is easily adjusted to be wider, narrower, shorter, longer, squarer etc although yarn requirements will vary compared to those in the pattern if you modify it.
The pattern requires about 800 yds of sock weight yarn depending on your tension which isn’t really important for this project.

I used my own hand dyed yarn 100% superwash merino in the colourway ‘stone’ that has 437 yds per skein and I used most of two skeins. My shawl blocked to 22” by 70” approx, but the blocking can be quite flexible so you can block wider and a bit shorter..
