RISPEN is a female cowl worked in two-color brioche stitch, featuring a botanically-inspired allover pattern of frozen trees and leafs. Details like the German twisted cast on, seamless transitions from ribbing and brioche pattern yield a cozy female accessory. Perfect pattern to gift yourself or to warm the ones you love.

Knitting in the round makes it easy to work the brioche pattern. Decreases worked before the upper edge taper the upper edge for a shape that sits comfortably over the shoulders while keeping the neck and ears cosy and warm. It uses two skeins of Malabrigo Merino Worsted yarn that highlights the texture of the brioche pattern perfectly.

I really would love to make you trying brioche knitting. So I have tried to keep the pattern simple, based on the basic brioche stitches, increases and decreases. Although it looks like cabled stitches, there is no need for a single cable needle. You can do it, knitters!

Both shown samples were knit in Malabrigo Merino Worsted, which creates a very squishy, dense warm fabric and makes brioche stitches pop out for glorious texture. I was using light colors in the foreground (MC) and slightly darker colors in the background (CC).
The cowl can be knit in multiple sizes only by changing needle size and gauge.
