Inspired by the leaves in the forest, and the river that runs through it. This cozy sweater in soft merino wool is knitted in one piece, from cuff to cuff - sideways!
The continuous double cable runs up the sleeve, and splits for shaping the neckline. A relaxed, but elegant and modern sweater with a loose fit. The garter stitches are created by simply knitting back and forth on the needle. Easy and fun to knit.

One size: Loose fit, medium/large
Width: 23 inches - 58 cm - measured flat
Circumference: 46 inches - 116 cm
Full length: 25 inches - 63 cm - measured flat.

Note:
The yarn I used for the sweater pictured (Drops Big Merino) was a little heavy and stretchy, and sags while wearing. This affects the length of the body. If you use another yarn than specified, a less stretchy yarn, you might need to cast on 5-10 additional sts to the body length get a longer sweater.
I recommend using Dale Cotinga as it is lighter.

  • I used approx. 15 balls of Big Merino yarn (230 yards/1125 m) for the sweater pictured.

Alpakka Tweed from Du Store Alpakka knitted on needle 5 mm uses approx. 16 balls of yarn.
