The pattern includes instructions for four bed runner sizes: twin, full, queen and king size.

All sizes are 23” wide and the length is designed to drape approximately 14 - 15” over each side of the bed.

Note: This is an accent blanket for the end of the bed. It is not designed to cover the entire bed.

Knit flat, in one piece, back and forth on US size 15 knitting needles. (Circular or long straight needles.)

DIRECTIONS FOR FOUR SIZES:
Approximate sizes after blocking…

Twin Bed Runner: 23” wide x 65” long
Full Bed Runner: 23” wide x 81” long
Queen Bed Runner: 23” wide x 89” long
King Bed Runner: 23” wide x 105” long

It’s easy to make any of the blanket sizes longer by adding cable repeats. Pattern includes estimates for additional yardage needed to make blankets longer.

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate

Experience with basic cable knitting is highly recommended. You will also need to know how to cast on stitches, knit and purl confidently, read a row by row knitting pattern, bind off stitches and weave in ends.

For best results, blocking of finished blanket is recommended.

SUPER BULKY YARN:

Twin Bed Runner: 550 - 575 yards
Full Bed Runner: 670 - 700 yards
Queen Bed Runner: 720 - 750 yards
King Bed Runner: 900 - 950 yards

This pattern will work well with many super bulky weight yarns. I loved using Lion Brand Hometown USA in ‘Springfield Silver’. This yarn is very soft and has an attractive subtle sheen that gives a modern vibe.

You may also experiment with knitting two strands of bulky or worsted weight yarn together…remember you will need about twice as much yardage!

Be sure to buy additional yarn if you plan to add length to your blanket.

GAUGE:
Stockinette stitch with US size 15 needles: approximately 8 - 8.5 stitches & 11 rows = 4”

Exact gauge is not essential. However, for desired appearance it should be close.

NEEDLES:

US size 15 knitting needles - at least 14” long. I prefer circular knitting needles in order to have lots of room for the stitches

Written pattern with row by row instructions. This pattern uses standard U.S. knitting terms.
