Designed for Mango Moon - Knitting Under a Mango Moon III

Spring runoff: streams of water cascade down the mountainside forming eddies that ripple and sparkle and delight the eye. The purple mountains reflect a hint of the setting sun as the waters flow. Wrap yourself in a free-style one-of-a-kind creation of swirling color! Use the added texture of reverse stockinette stitch and occasional rows of feather-n-fan to really make some waves! Let your rivers of color run wild!

This asymmetrical shawl is constructed in five very manageable short-rowed segments on a curve-of -pursuit neckline and is easily adjusted to the desired length of the wearer. The border contains an optional buttonhole, and this free-style fanciful garment is intended to make excellent use of your favorite shawl pin.

River Run may look complicated, but it is actually quite simple to knit. It will be equally attractive should you choose to use fewer colors (see versions II and III) for a more subdued piece.

Skill Level: Advanced beginner or practiced in knitting and purling. Familiarity with feather-n-fan stitch is helpful but not required.

Finished Measurements: taken with garment lying flat
Approximately 58“ wide and 26 “ deep (widest at section 3) longer, 52” x 21” for shorter. River Run will drape and change slightly on the body. Place on a life line and try on often for best results in fit. Since this is knit free-style, you may choose to add more sections for a wider wrap or shorten or lengthen individual sections according to your fit preference.
