I loved the lace stitch that I was using for a scarf pattern “Stream” and I was listening to a lot of folk music at the time, so I decided to design a shawl using the lace pattern and name it Riversong for two songs to rivers that I particularly like - Song for the Myra and Shenandoah

Riversong is knit from the top down using a very simple stitch. The stitches are then doubled to form the soft ruffle at the end. I really enjoyed knitting it.
