This scarf has a unique diagonal stripe that casual and can be made up in your favorite school colors.

The scarf is knit using the strip knitting (modular) technique, in which the currently worked strip is attached to the main body of the work at the end of each RS row so that no sewing is required and the corresponding rows of each strip stay exactly aligned.

Directions are for a wide 12” scarf or shawl and a narrower 8” scarf.

The narrow scarf requires 600 yards of worsted. 300 yards of each color for a two color scarf, and 200 yards of each color for a 3 color scarf.

The wide scarf requires 900 yards or worsted. 450 yards of each color for a two color scarf, and 300 yards of each color for a 3 color scarf.

Equipment needed is:

  • US size 8 knitting needles.
  • Stitch holder.
  • Crochet hook for weaving in ends.
  • 1 Stitch marker
