The pattern was updated 24th of Dec 2014. Latest version is called Robin cowl 2.pdf. The only thing I’ve changed is the length of the cowl, 60-70 cm instead of 75 cm.

Robin Cowl is a cosy and versatile accessory. It knits up quickly
in worsted or aran weight yarn. You can wear it buttoned all the
way down, open it up so it will warm your shoulders too or you
can wear it like a hood.
You can make it in one color or you can play with stripes and
several colors.

The shown cowl measures 40 cm along the buttoned edge, 65 cm at the back and is 70 cm wide with gauge 20x24, but gauge is not important.
If you make it less wide, about 60 cm, it will fit more tightly around your neck for extra warmth.
