INFO
’Rocas’ combines graphic, textural, and color interest. Named after the mineral-inspired colorways of Wol met Verve shown in the sample, this shawl is punctuated with lines of lace dots and features a lively sequence of varying stitches in different sections.

For your palette, you can choose a subtle gradient look, or experiment with contrasting hues, or explore the subtle effect of a single color-
-the design offers a multitude of possibilities.

Some of the stitch patterns uses the k1b (knit 1 stitch in row below) technique to mimic brioche stitches. A photo tutorial is provided and there is also a video tutorial available here: https://www.grethamensen.com/tutorials


PATTERN INFO
Rocas is worked flat from the top down, starting with a garter tab. Stitches are increased every RS row to create a triangular shawl. The pattern is fully written out with stitch counts throughout the entire shawl.

3 skeins Wol met Verve, Merino Singles (100% merino, 100 gr-400 yds/366m). Sample yardage 917yds/838m.
CC1: Silver speckles, 331yds/303m.
CC2: Yellow speckles, 207yds/189m.
CC3: Anthracite speckles, 378yds/346m.

Or any Fingering/Sock weight yarn: approx.875-984yds (800-900m).

MATERIALS
24” (minimal 60 cm) circular or straight needles.
US 3 (3.25 mm) for bind off.
US 5 (3.75 mm).

Stitch markers, tapestry needle.

GAUGE
Garter stitch (18 stitches x 40 rows), blocked = 4” x 4” (10 x 10 cm).
Gauge is not crucial at all, but will affect final size and yardage.
