This pattern got its name from the rock cap moss.

This hat can be made with worsted yarn, just cast on 88 rather than 80 stitches and subtract 1” from the length.

This hat is adult size medium, width can be adjusted by adding or subtracting stitches in multiples of 8.

K1p1 ribbing is 5” to be folded. For a non-folded brim, k1p1 for 2.5”. For a more fitted beanie, begin crown decreases at 8.5” from CO edge.

This is my first hat design and I’m very happy with the result! I hope you enjoy knitting this pattern. I’m making it free because I have enjoyed many free patterns from my fellow ravelrers, so thank you. Special thanks to Melisa and Hannah for their input in creating this pattern.
